Casteliers welcomes artists from here and from around the world to the Maison internationale des arts de la marionnette (MIAM) to participate in creative residencies. Each residency is an opportunity for artists to work with other puppetry professionals and to engage in dialogue with audiences at large.
Montréal, July 2, 2024 — Casteliers, the Conseil des arts de Montréal and Le Schatz House are pleased to announce that Joanie Fortin and Valise Théâtre are the recipients of the 2024-2025 Creative research residencies for professional puppeteers from Montréal.
With the goal of developing puppetry arts, these residencies will give the artists the opportunity to work on their respective projects and to take advantage of specialized spaces, equipment, and resources. Each residency lasts 17 days and will be split into two segments: 12 days at the Maison internationale des arts de la marionnette (MIAM) in Montréal, and 5 days at Le Schatz, in Sutton.
