A centre dedicated to the 11th art
The opening of the Maison internationale des arts de la marionnette (MIAM—International House of Puppetry Arts) in the fall of 2018 marked a turning point for our organization. A legacy of the Ville de Montréal’s 375th anniversary, the MIAM turned the puppeteering community’s dream into a reality. It was made possible thanks to the joint efforts of Casteliers and the Québec Puppeteer Association (Association québécoise des marionnettistes—AQM) and the support of elected officials and civil servants, as well as governments and many generous donors. Located at 30 St-Just Avenue, the MIAM enriches the borough of Outremont’s cultural district and contributes to the national and international promotion of Montréal, Cultural Metropolis.
Exciting puppetry throughout the year
Casteliers’ 15th season starts with Casteliers sur l’herbe in August 2019. Several other shows will be presented over the following months as part of Casteliers en famille and Soirées Casteliers. The 15th Festival de Casteliers will be held from March 4-8, 2020 and will include artists from Finland, France, Belgium, Scotland, British Columbia and Québec.
Don’t miss out on the fun!
