Two tales from the animal kingdom that reveal the struggles of the world’s outcasts.

Opus #1: La forêt ça n’existe pas (The forest does not exist)

A story about the friendship between two companions in misfortune, a monkey and a sloth, locked in a box. What are they doing there? Despite having forgotten all they have known, they remain hopeful and try to escape.

Opus #2: De plus en plus de rien (More and more of nothing)

On a tiny island, a desolate and inhospitable place, a spotted hyena and a ground worm have a talk. As the last remaining witnesses to the living world, they can feel the earth disappearing under their feet. . .

A short form puppet show performed with great talent. Funny, tender and so very intelligent!  – Toute la culture

Running time: 45 minutes

Portés Disparus is a last-chance theatre for pathetic creatures. A chaotic ecosystem where each character, no matter how minor, embodies a fragment of the living. A sloth without its branch, an earthworm digging its way through emptiness, a solitary sock, the fossil of an extinct creature, or a cuddly security blanket abandoned at a roadside service station: each of these characters is engaged in a losing battle (but then again, you never know) against forces beyond their control.

As they come to terms with their vulnerability, they clash with the remnants of a world in decline and try to create one last symbiosis: the joyous society of the living.
