A collaboration between the Association québécoise des marionnettistes (AQM),
Casteliers and the Maison de la culture Ahuntsic

Vernissage: Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 6 p.m.

A pioneer of puppetry arts in Québec, Micheline Legendre (1923-2010) is credited with creating 80 shows, performing more than 16,000 times, and designing and building nearly 1,170 puppets for both stage and television.

She has coached dozens of puppeteers, organized the first international puppet festival in Montréal, and was active in professional organizations such as the Union internationale de la marionnette (UNIMA). This exhibit showcases some fifteen puppets and a selction of photographs and documents.

A modest tribute to the artist’s outstanding career.

After Montréal, the exhibit will be travelling to the Maison de la marionnette in Tournai, Belgium, as part of an international cooperation project between Québec and Wallonia.
