With Claude Rodrigue
Shaping a face, rendering an expression, and carving a model are some of the important steps involved in the process of creating a puppet. In this workshop led by sculptor and puppet designer Claude Rodrigue, participants are given the opportunity to explore facial morphology in greater depth.
The techniques covered will centre around the modelling of air dry, no-bake clay busts.
On the basis of a personalized learning process, participants will be guided through one or more of the following steps:
A) STUDY
– Meticulous reproduction of a clay bust based on the analysis of frontal and profile images.
B) CREATION
– Unrestrained interpretation using a visual medium of the participant’s choice.
– Character and expression research.
