![\"\"](\"https:\/\/casteliers.ca\/2015\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Montage_photo_infolettre_CAM-23-24-1024x208.jpg\") <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/p>\n \n Casteliers, the Conseil des arts de Montr\u00e9al and the Le Schatz House are pleased to announce that the Caroline TANGUAY<\/strong> and Floribert Pertulien BANTSIMBA<\/strong> are the recipients of the 2023-2024 Creative research residencies for professional puppeteers from Montr\u00e9al.<\/span><\/p>\n With the goal of developing puppetry arts, these residencies will give the artists the opportunity to work on their respective projects and to take advantage of specialized spaces, equipment, and resources. The residencies will each last for seventeen (17) days. They will take place in two stages: twelve (12) days at the Maison internationale des arts de la marionnette (MIAM) in Montr\u00e9al, and five (5) days at the Le Schatz House in Sutton. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n A graduate in acting from the Conservatoire d\u2019art dramatique de Qu\u00e9bec, Caroline Tanguay has over twenty years\u2019 creative experience working with various Qu\u00e9bec companies (Les Nuages en pantalon, Pupulus Mordicus, Ex Machina\u2026), as an actor, puppeteer, singer, writer, assistant choreographer and instructor. Since 2019, she has also been studying New Magic.<\/span><\/p>\n Caroline will use this residency to work on her new creation M\u00e9tamorphoses<\/em>, accompanied by established artists from the visual arts, dance, puppetry and circus disciplines. Together, they will continue their research to create a bridge between mask art, puppetry and magic, and tell the story of a woman through the different stages of her life, a fragment of women\u2019s history through the ages.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Born in Congo-Brazzaville, Floribert Pertulien Bantsima is an actor, storyteller, and puppeteer. After studying to become a crop engineer, he shifted his focus to theatre and puppetry, taking part in several productions and festivals in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In Qu\u00e9bec, he specialized in street art and cultural mediation.<\/span><\/p>\n Floribert will use this residency to create \u00d4 calebasse<\/em>, the story of Samba, a young Congolese boy who, with the help of his grandmother, grows a magic gourd. . . Through this modern-day tale drawing on traditional sources, he aims to highlight the importance of respecting different cultures and questioning certain social issues, with beauty, poetry, and humour.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In addition, three other entries received a ‘Coup de Coeur’ award from the jury. Synth\u00e8se additive<\/strong> and C\u00e9line Chevrier<\/strong> will be presenting their research to the public in the PR\u00c9LUDE format at the MIAM, during the 2023-2024 season. Collectif Ausgang<\/strong> will enjoy a creative residency at Le Schatz.<\/p>\n This international cross-residency is made possible with support from the Conseil des arts de Montr\u00e9al.<\/strong><\/p>\n Through its various forms of assistance, the Conseil des arts de Montr\u00e9al supports artistic innovation and creative expression in all its diversity, with the aim of promoting Montreal\u2019s artists, producers, and presenters.
