As the saying goes, you have to put yourself in somebody else’s shoes to really understand how they feel. Marie-Ève Lefebvre and Sara Marchand criss-crossed the city looking for stories of shoes and the people who wear them.

Together, they listened to funny stories, sad stories, stories of trips, stories of immigration, true stories, invented stories, stories of hope, stories of resilience, all imprinted in the shoes’ soles.

In Récit d’une chaussure, they tell us these stories. And maybe along the way, both women will find a good fit…

Running time: 45 minutes
Techniques: Actresses and Object Theatre

Libre course is a feminist theatre company for children and youth. Its mission is to produce inclusive professional shows, both in terms of the themes covered and the way the troupe puts its shows together. Libre course seeks to develop a theatrical language that underscores meaning in all its productions. Through cultural mediation activities, Libre course addresses social issues and ensures that children and young people are at the heart of this reflection.

Libre course believes that our collective imagination is narrow and that it is vital to show children strong, independent female characters who pursue their dreams, as well as socially marginalized characters.
